Floral Meanings: Violet symbolises faithfulness, delicate love, death, and renewal.  Goddesses connected to this flower were Aphrodite as well as Persephone, who was both the goddess of spring and the queen of the dead. She was out collecting violets when she was abducted by Hades and stolen away into the underworld. Also because of its heart-shaped leaves, violet was a frequent ingredient of love potions and spells.

I started painting birth flowers right after my birthday. Simple asters connecting me back to childhood, memory, and ancestory. I realized it was just another talisman or expression of how I saw myself (aka. A little Virgo baby just trying to get by 😂)
